(every) Wednesday Laser Cup series..

1600 till dark,

open for everyone and certainly SMYC youth..

as many starts as possible,

max say 10 boats/lasers on start line,

flexible online start time(s) booking for all possible,

electronic scoring when boat goes thru (start) finish etc etcetc..

This is my ideal picture of having weekly laser racing in front of YC,

Goal..

1 Make YC more (Laser) race minded

2 Learn kids laser racing and race management and running/organizing it.. with help coaches, volunteers/parents.. 

THIS WILL WORK, because once we done it a few times it will be easy and fun, people will like it/be a part of it I think.. 

3 Every racer who comes to SXM should know he can race Laser always every Wednesday at YC

4 Webcam pointed on course and live on internet flights, scores and entries and possibilities for people to book a few starts so they sure to race, or even a group or few people who want to be sure to race each other..

Course..

Upwind start, downwind finish, to not lose to much time and have quick next start...

Short Up down Finish, (Or Up down up down finish) as close as possible to YC so someone can also be live commentator from YC bar thru boxes..

(and live on internet as sound with webcam?)

He could also do flags from YC maybe..

First start at 3 or 4 until dark.

Clock/time is set once at first start of day and keeps running so everyone only synnchronizes watch only once.. 

Format..

As many races as possible,

change sailor every race or every 2 races, or.. depending on people ..

Winner of the day/week..

Last Wednesday of month sort of month final..

month winner etc etc

Kids, Reinier, Max and other coaches and volunteers:

1.To have enough people to run it .. make it part of YC training for kids..

2 The kids have always priority to race the Laser so they learn and race the good laser racers an learn to know them..

3 They also run a dinghy for start and marks and problems

4 They handle lasers and coordinate change over racers

5 They learn to quick solve a problem on a Laser and to repair them etc

Should not be to much problems normally..

Yachts waiting/maneuvering are simply obstacles during race..

Flexibility is code word here..

racing goes on as much as possible 

Costs

People pay very small donation per start,

members even less,

kids who can race free of course..

Same format can of course also be used for LSR or Vision or even Opties,

but later hours just Lasers please..

Course to short to have 2 classes on it of course u can do a laser race, then vision, or other, then Laser again etc

My choice for Wednesday or Friday is because Frits Bus is free these afternoons I think.. no other reason
